This Privacy Policy describes how your Personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or get a service from http://www.patientplus.com.au/, operated by Patient Plus Pty Ltd ACN 657 477 622 (“Us”, “We” or “Our”). This policy complies with the Australian Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

As defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), “Personal Information” is information that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Information we collect include names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers. Our Privacy Policy also includes Sensitive Information.

Before giving us your health information, you must give your explicit consent to processing such health information. You can withdraw your consent at any time. We collect such information about your health that is necessary to facilitate our service to you and will be used by us only for the primary purpose for which it was obtained.

Collection of Personal Information

To perform our service, we may collect your information through a variety of ways such as health information when you submit a patient registration form. We store this information and transfer it to the practice management software of the medical practice you have booked an appointment with.

We may collect the following types of Personal Information in order to provide you with access to our services.

  • Contact information such as phone numbers and email address
  • Gender
  • Emergency contact information
  • Medicare, pension, DVA details
  • Private health insurance fund details
  • Medications including medical history
  • Psychometric results such as DASS21
  • Financial information such as credit cards
  • Website interaction information such as website usage and IP address

How Personal Information is used

Patient Plus Pty Ltd may collect and use your Personal Information for a range of purposes, including:

  • to provide you with our services
  • to provide you with information on updates to our existing or new products
  • to improve, personalize, and expand our services
  • to provide customer support
  • when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for a mailing list for receiving promotional emails 
  • to meet our legal obligations such as disclosing Personal Information in connection to a legal claim where applicable by Australian laws or a court of law

Financial information, such as your Payment Method information, type, and expiration date, is collected and stored by Stripe and PayPal, our third-party payment processing companies (“Payment Processor”), and use and storage of that information are governed by Stripe’s and PayPal’s “https://stripe.com/privacy” and “https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full” own policies. You are requested to read and consider their privacy policy before you agree to make a payment for our services.

Patient Plus Pty Ltd is committed to ensuring your personal information is secure. We have put in place suitable physical, technical, and managerial procedures to safeguard Personal Information such as:

  • TLS 1.2/SSL encryption (most current at this time)
  • Being always accessed over HTTPS 100% of the time for all users
  • Password protection
  • Encryption (where applicable)
  • Two-factor authentication (2FA)

While we take all reasonable measures to ensure your Personal Information we hold about you is secure at all times, we cannot guarantee the security of any information that you transmit to us or receive from us. Your transmission and exchange of Personal Information is carried out at your own risk.

We may store Personal Information on third-party secure data facilities, which may be located overseas to the extent necessary to perform these services. However, we are not responsible for the storage and security of your personal information that is held by third party service providers.

Email Marketing

Time to time we may send you direct marketing emails and information about certain services and products. All our commercial emails contain the unsubscribe option. If you do not wish to receive any of our commercial marketing or email, you may unsubscribe anytime by clicking the unsubscribe option given in the email. Opting out service does not include transaction alerts or other updates from purchasing our service.

Children’s Privacy

The website and services provided are not intended for children under the age of 16. If we unknowingly collected Personal Information from a child under 16 years of age without consent from a parent or legal guardian, we will delete that information.
